What saddle do you have?

I am having some issues with my saddle, it's a wintec GP but is the most uncomfy thing I have ever ridden in and really don't feel secure in it at all! I have a nice round cob to boot. :D
My other issue and I can't decide if it is down to saddle or stirrups but I get horrible cramp and nerve issues down one leg (normally the right one).
Does anyone else have this type of issues (or am i just a wierdo)? And if so what do you use to help with the issues?

I have a wintec GP and found it really umcomfortable as well! Gave me a numb bum when hacking lol.
Also have a Harry Dabbs dressage and a Morris and Nolan dressage saddle (which is unbelievably comfy!) and a Lovett and Ricketts event saddle (which again isnt that comfy)
 
Wonder if its because they aren't leather? I have a Jeffries Hawk Event and its the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in.
 
i have a made to measure working hunter infact iv had 2 made and always get cramp in 1 ankle the same one and a numb bum but iv not a lot of padding there lol and my ankle i think is just me
 
My experience with synthetic saddles is that they don't warm and mould to you and the horse like leather saddles. I have a GFS Pro Event saddle and an Albion for my 2 - they are very comfy, could sit in them all day!
 
I have a Thorowgood saddle for the TB and my big boy and cob have leather saddles. One is a maker which I can't remember and the other is a Coleman Croft saddle. All were secondhand costing around £50, £110 and £165 respectively ( last two including postage). I ride in the 2 leather saddles and both are comfy but I do mostly use a seat saver. Sheepskin ones but did have a gel pad one that I got secondhand but it has started to melt???
For sheepskin seatsavers I would recommend the Cottage Craft one as a budget one which seems pretty good, but the best for me was a secondhand purchase from over 4 years ago that is still going strong and cost less than £20! It is my Bartl one and it has taken a lot of wear from a big bottom in the saddle for many hours lol
I wouldn't recommend the Nuumed Griffin one but I have heard good feedback about the Heather Moffett seatbone saver pads.

cant say i agree with that. I have had leather saddles in the past and the synthetic saddles perform just as well and havent had any issues with them not 'moulding' to the horse.
Very comfortable, very secure on horse and i cant complain :D

With synthetic you dont have to worry about cleaning the saddle every two minutes in case it cracks or creases etc like leather.
 
I've got 2 Jefferies saddles!
For my welsh section d and my coloured cob medium build and I can't fault them, they are the most comfortable saddles I've ever rode in cus I've had a winter before and thought it was horrible. At the end of the day u get wot u pay for that's why wintecs are cheap but that's just my opinion x
 
I have a new Albion Ultima Royale Dressage saddle but my old saddle is a Wintec GP. I agree it is uncomfortable, I use a Heather Moffet seat saver with the Wintec and it helps loads.

me too - i love my ideal vsd saddle. I got it for my first pony (a 14.2 arab x )in 1997, when she sadly got pts in 2002 I went to try my current horse (15.2 conemarra x) and my saddle fitted her perfectly. I had flair fitted to it just after I got it, which means it needs checked regularly. I hope it lasts a few more years!
 
I had a Wintec VSD and I thought it was great - until I got my WOW (not new, very pre loved, faded) and literally thought WOW the first time I sat on it. :D
Can't remember why, but I had cause to use the Wintec again - it was hard, put me in a chair seat, it was 'orrible.
Plus - horse goes much better in the /wow - stretches more, relaxes......

Not that cheap, my Wintec was £500 new [half that on Ebay]
 
My cob has a Freeform treeless (very comfy) and My TB a Kent & Masters leather adjustable VSD, whoch is ok for schooling but not for long distance hacks, which I do a lot of! I tend to use the treeless on TB when we're hacking, or have a huge soft sheepskin seatsaver to avoid "chuff chafe" (yes, I know, TMI :D )
Also use the bendy stirrups, they are great for knee/ankle probs xx.
