Hey,

I'm curious what type/make of saddle do you have and what type of horse do you have?

I'm thinking of getting new one later in the year for my Highland - possibly a WoW saddle although may look other at other makes too. So would appreciate good/bad point about your saddles too.

Highland - Leather GFS second hand saddle. - dressage/show jumping/cross country/pleasure rides.

New Forest - Synthetic Thoroughgood saddle. - not backed yet.

Short backed Luso x with high wither bit of a dipped back and deep chest, I use the Enlightened Equitation FlexEE dressage saddle, happy horse = happy owner :) :)

one has a wide/xw unknown make GP, the other is a spoilt pony and has a stubben Siegfried GP/Jumping and a Olympic Competition dressage saddle :) both 17in m/w

A 15.1hh wide Anglo Arab X, she has a m/w Fairfax dressage saddle and the Balance Zenith GP that we had for our boy also fits her, so she has that when jumping

Quite a selection.
What do you think of the Balance saddle Madam Min? One of the highland's first saddles was a Balance Soft Option -what a laugh one of them is, with a pony that has a tendency to suddenly whip round and take off. Taught me balance though :D

14.3/15hh Haflinger with a slight wither and very slight dipped back. WoW competitor, currently set to working hunter (VSD set back)

Fantastic saddle, well worth the money in my eyes. Fitted old mare too, and my friend has tried it on her horse and loved it.

17.3 Warmblood has a Kent Dressage saddle (he's 99% retired, gets hauled out of the field on occasion!)

The 2 TB's share saddles, one is a Saddle Company gp, and the other is a Champion (it's an older saddle, but it's really great, fits wonderfully!)

I have a kieffer gp which came with my 15.1 Arab when I got her. I knowits an expensive saddle but I don't really like it. It's well comfy but it's dead heavy and really want to get a treeless one.

It really helped our boy and it suits Chloe as well, I know some don't like the Balance saddles as they find them bulky etc but we've found it fine

Orchardbeck, saddles are out, at the moment Heather has loaned me one of her dressage saddles until mine is ready, love them or hate them, each person has individual tastes and I have ridden in one for several years and I love 'em. Ring her up or E mail her and she will let you know of your local fitter :D :D

I currently have a wintec....but it has gone a funny shade of purple so I will be replacing it with a Bates when I can find a nice one secondhand

14h New forest has a 16.5 GFS. 15.1 WBx has a 17.5 Ideal 1350 comfiest saddle ever.
16.2 ID has an Ideal international event 17.5 MW, Ideals are great saddles. :)

17.2 ISH high withers, drop back, short back and hollows behind the shoulder in a kent and masters gp (crappy leather but it'll do and it has a changeable gullet and its comfy...although i have only ridden in it 5 times so this may change...)

14.3 tbx trotter- normal shape :O slightly bum high (unbroken)
hmmm not sure what it is its an english leather saddle made in england and is old :o sorry im useless haha

16hh DWB mare, currently in a Pessoa AMO.
I am liking the positive post about WoW saddles as I have just invested in one - awaiting its arrival - WoW owners, what girth do you use?

I bought a Ideal H&C last year but it wasn't the best fit for her or me so I went back to the Pessoa, I need to sell the ideal really (hint hint) I think 3 saddles for 1 horse is excessive!

15hh cob x wb, no major fitting issues (I am the issue, not the horse!) - I have 2 Wows, one Dr, one XC, wouldn't have anything else now :D

fairyclare - I use a Professionals Choice neoprene girth with mine. My fitter approved of it as it is quite wide and has strong elastic at both ends. Before I got that I had an Albion leather girth but the Profs Choice is easier to look after ;)

14hh Irish cob is in wintec pro jump fantastic saddle for everything!

13.2 exmoor is in a thorowgood pony club saddle love it but lack of knee rolls

Have tried solutions treeless saddles amazing! Have a totally different view on how I ride now!

15.3 andalusian has Sue Carson dressage saddle, very comfy
16.00 tb has new wintec pro dressage which is almost as comfy as other one! He did have a Kent & Masters GP which was only used 5 times & got sent back as leather was so poor- the Wintec was a swap as I really didn't want to have to spend any more money!

Ooo, thats interesting, my fitter said no elastic whatsoever, but that maybe because my mare has no wither and is barrel shaped so everything slips on her.
Its proving to be almost impossible to find a dressage girth with no elastic in!
I'll have a look at the professional choice girths - Thanks!

My fitter also said no elastic because the Flair has some give itself, but changed his mind when he saw my girth;) I had the long version of the PC girth with my old saddle and loved it as the neoprene is quite grippy- I am paranoid about overtight girths (tend to go around with it a bit loose if anything ) and I found the saddle was really secure with that girth.

I also found with many other girths that she jumped a bit crooked, but the PC girth was an overnight fix - she went really straight immediately so I assume she must be more comfortable.

All in all, when I got my wow it was a no-brainer really :D They are a bit pricey though.

I am currently using a borrowed Antill saddle on my horse until I can find a saddle to buy. It's a very comfy saddle, and the workmanship and leather is top quality. My old mare's saddle is a Charles Mountfort GP, unfortunately it doesn't fit my new horse, but I will find a horse to put it on and it will never be sold because it's the most lovely saddle and it has sentimental value as well.
I'm looking for an Arabian Saddle Company Solstice endurance, and I might have found one, lets hope it fits!!
