What saddle do you have?

Wintec 2000, old style Jeffries event type saddle, bates elavation, gfs show saddle. Horses are tb x, one is a hunter build the other a riding horse build

I've got a Stubben Seigfried VSS on a cob. I'm not much of a jumper and this I've found to be impossible to fall off in. I've also got a Calcutt & Sons dressage saddle, for when he's fat in summer. It's got a lovely wide comfy seat & being straight cut gives room for his fat shoulders. It's an old fashioned saddle with small knee rolls not huge blocks & the stirrup bars set further forward than a lot of more modern dressage saddles I've ridden in, I can still jump in this one.

I've also got a Calcutt saddle that I've had for 15 years, a 16.5" working hunter, but doesn't fit the little guy now. (ArabxWelsh 14.2 was flat backed and low withered) Considering treeless options for him.
For the 15hh ConniexTB, I've got a Thorowgood VSD.

I have an Albion Platinum Royale dressage saddle and I love it. I tried about 5 saddles but fell in love with the Albion.

14.2 Coloured native (black and white Dales pony), with a WOW. (pre-loved, but the components could have been put together just for us - lucky :D)
I use a deep seat and have dressage flaps with moveable blocks, swung forward into the VSD position.
Best saddle I ever had.

Milliepops - I'll try a Professionals choice girth - I've been looking at them and wondering.... :D

14.2hh cob, short back with big stride (horse size stride) narrow at the front and really wide on the back of him - 17.5" Steve Sturgess GP saddle LOVE it would not put anything else on him, you can have it flaired or flocked. Mine's flocked until I have enough money to flair it, then I fit it myself :)

Professional choice girths on all, fab!

Daisy, ideal Josephine made to measure, 15.3 traditional cob

Freddie, ideal H an C wide, highland pony

Pearl, highland same as Feds but17 inch saddle

Short backed Luso x with high wither bit of a dipped back and deep chest, I use the Enlightened Equitation FlexEE dressage saddle, happy horse = happy owner :) :)

I've also got a short backed Luso x TB. Ended up getting him a WOW because I needed a 17" panel, he needed a 16" seat. Worked extremely well and we both love the saddle. They are very pricey though, so I bought all the parts 2nd hand and had my WOW fitted put it together.

1 chunky Irish cob, 1 TB.
Chunky is in a Freeform Classic, had it 7 years, really fab on her! Jump, X country, everything in it :)
TB has a Kent & Masters VSD, but neither of us are very happy in it. Not comfy enough for 7+ hr hacks for me, she seems to prefer the Freeform.
Last week rode her in an old HM FlexionSBS. OMG! Different horse! :D
So selling the K&M (on ebay now) and looking at possibly FlexEE (not keen on synthetics but have been assured this is in a different class) or getting an old Flexion off ebay. Or maybe a fhoenix?? Heather has offered me her ex demo Vogue for £900, but unfortunately do not have the dosh atm :(

TBx with probably the most 'average' back possible, although her withers have become a bit more prominent as she's got older.

I have a stalwort wintec 250 GP which (despite the slating wintec often gets on here, and TBF its never going to be the prettiest saddle) fits Madam brilliantly and she's always gone well in. Last year (when they were on sale) I treated myself to a Tekna A8 dressage saddle which is just lush and sooooo much more comfortable for me compared to the wintec!

Roy (17.2hh Dutch Warmblood with ridiculously high withers) - Ideal GP. I sold his dressage and jumping saddles as he is now too old to need them.

Tuff (17.2hh TB) - a verrrry old and comfy Stubben GP, and an Albion SLK dressage saddle

Kai (17.3hh heading for 18hh Andalusian x ISH) - currently an old Pandur SK GP, but as soon as he stops bloody growing he will have a new Albion close contact jumping saddle, and an Albion SLK or Ultima dressage saddle.

I seem to have a ridiculous collection of saddles for someone with four horses, one of which isn't ridden. During the move I discovered about thirteen!

My Appy has - a Falcon Adler VSD GP saddle which has a wide tree, a synthetic Wintec GP saddle with an interchangeable gullet and I've got an Exselle Integra jumping saddle on order (with a medium wide tree) I am not collecting saddles, honest!! He changes shape such a lot though that he is very difficult to fit a saddle to. The Falcon one fits him when he is not too fit/a bit fat (so hopefully these days he won't be wearing it too often) the Wintec is an 'in-between' saddle and the Exselle is going to be for when he is hunting fit again.

My ISH hardly ever changes shape and has an Albion K2 GP saddle which is lovely and comfortable. :)

Handmade to measure GFS GP for 17.1 Danish WB x Appy

Albion Platinum Ultima Dressage saddle for 16.2 CB

Wintec VSD for first saddle.. For 2 x CB and the Appy on occasion

I have a whitaker jumping saddle for my (big boned) WB X TB
He goes lovely in it, does need adjusted now tho as his shape has changed a fair bit but i find its a very comfy saddle for short periods, was in the saddle all day once at a show and i got such a numb bumb which never usually happens to me but perfect for what i need it for:)

I'll post my usual response and say these questions generate a lot of answers and opinions, but your Highland won't fit 99% of what is suggested on here! I fit lots of Highlands and only certain options will work for them, like many natives and cobs.

I've also got a short backed Luso x TB. Ended up getting him a WOW because I needed a 17" panel, he needed a 16" seat. Worked extremely well and we both love the saddle. They are very pricey though, so I bought all the parts 2nd hand and had my WOW fitted put it together.

Just to clarify, you need a seat of a certain size, the horse needs a panel of a certain size, not the other way around . Most bench made saddle makers can make a saddle with at least a 1/2" shorter panel on it for a short backed horse.

I own a ReactorPanel Lacrosse dressage saddle but once again, as I have no horse, it is out on loan helping someone out of a saddle scrape, but I do have about 30 show, WH and GP saddles at home on the spare bed...not sure the company owner would like me taking them out and riding in them though :D

I have an albion dressage saddle- can't remember which one exactly but one of the lower priced ones. Lovely, so comfy to ride in.
I also have a Fylde Ray, a showing/working hunter saddle.

Thorowgood t8 for a barrel shaped nfxqh

I also have a pfiff a make unknown to most/all with phuck embossed on the girth guard... a saddler with a sense of humour maybe? Unused at the moment.

A saddle company dressage saddle by that lady who I can't remember her name but it is lovely however also unused

Another thorowgood this too is unused.

An unbranded 14" pony saddle - yep this too unused.

And a rubbish Rhinegold for getting the youngsters used to a saddle!

I swear I have more but perhaps not.. maybe I need a rummage around my tack room see what else I can unearth! :D
