What saddles do you use on your Dartmoors?

I've just taken on an 11.2 Dartmoor on loan who currently uses a pad but the instructor that taught my daughter suggested getting a proper saddle that she cant fit into.
I know its best to go and get her fitted but would like an idea of sizes and types you all use so I have an idea where to start as she's very table like and hard to fit!

I've heard these are quite good for them - not cheap!

I would recommend finding a specialist wide horse and pony specialist fitter/brand.

My DHP has an old Barnsby PC fits a treat and doesn’t slip even though pony is low withers and round.

I'm still on the hunt for a saddle for this table top pony! Saddler recommended the Black Country Poppy in XW but without taking her for a fitting is hard to tell 100% but they are still soooo expensive second hand even though they are gorgeous saddles! I am looking into the Posh Pony Pads until daughter is more established and I can afford to get a decent saddle fitted to her but still also on the look out for second hand saddles that may work so any other recommends greatly appreciated!

We have a little Dartmoor type and she’s in a Wintec, not my first choice but it was a cheap punt and saddle fitter said it fits perfectly.

I tried a Paddle but wasn’t keen.

Dartmoor type? Hill pony or proper flat backed no wither type? I'd not put a Wintec on the latter.

No idea, it was a cheap punt for £90, got the saddle fitter to check it whilst she did mine and it’s a good fit, ours has a wide flat back but a little wither as she’s an older lady.

Not my first choice of saddle but as I’d just purchased a surprise pony without asking my husband, I was keen to keep costs down

Sorry, only just seen your question. My pony is a 12.2 mare so probably longer than yours - the saddle is 16". How about an older half panel saddle.

She has no wither at all!

Wintec on a Dartmoor that actually came from Dartmoor. No wither! It does fit, but slips if she does a spook and spin.
