What sentimental things have you kept since losing a horse?

I have lost two so far and have hair in a locket and photos. My pony of a lifetime has had to be retired and is in poor health so for my 60th I commissioned a rocking horse as a palomino with her markings and am thrilled with it! I didn't have it done just as her as the mane and tail are white like my lighter palomino mare so it is a combination of both of them. The maker is very talented and it is a real work of art in 3D.
 
I lost my mare in July. Most of her things fitted my new horse and so have been reused. Whilst I did feel resentment to the new horse to begin with, "You can't take her place" I am getting over that as the new horse is lovely. I did break down in tears when her saddle was fitted to the new horse.
I had a pendant made up from her mane and I have a lock of her tail hair. My husband had a framed photo made for me. The passport agency very discretely marked the passport and returned it. I also had a photo shoot done, but I can't look at those yet.
 
When we lost our first pony the only thing we kept was his headcollar, bits and grooming kit. We were never going to have something small enough to fit his rugs/tack again so we sold it all. Although he had a funny shaped, large-ish head so we have re-used his bits/head collar many times and obviously used his grooming kit on the new horse.
 
When I lost my big lad very suddenly we were able to take a section from his tail. I thought that I would get it made into a bracelet or such but it somehow ended up in the glove compartment of my horsebox in a little freezer bag and I now like to think that he keeps us safe on our travels on our many adventures (silly I know), so it has never actually made it out of the lorry.
 
I keep a lock of hair with their passports (I know your meant to hand them in but I keep mine). Any practical things I either reuse, sell or donate to local charity.
 
A lady on her yard lost her horse this morning. She couldn't bear to stay for the hunt to turn up so 2 of us decided to cut some hair off her horses tail. No idea whether or not she will ever want anything made from it, but she was so upset this morning & I didn't want her to turn around in a few weeks and wish she'd had a keepsake & it was then too late to do anything.
 
2 years ago today I lost my horse of a lifetime. I keep his passport in my desk drawer in work, cos I like to have to close to me. I have some of his tail and his saddle at home. I also have a bracelet made of his tail hair, and his ashes in my living room. I miss him so much it hurts.
 
I have kept everything. I can't bear to part with any of their things. The rugs have been washed and reproofed and put into storage. All tack is kept in my house. I have mane and tail clippings from both horses and I even still have their ashes in the house because I'm just not ready to say goodbye yet (I lost one 2.5 years ago and the other 8 months ago). I have their headcollars and leadropes hanging up together. I'm currently pregnant but do intend to get another horse one day, so tack and rugs etc will be used again, and everything else will be kept as momentos. I've also got all my old dog's stuff too!! Maybe I have issues, but it's just the way I am.
 
I've kept everything, saddles, headcollers, rugs and their ashes (of 3 horses) are in the stable under blankets. I freak out if anyone leaves something on them....only the cats are allowed to lay on the blankets.
 
Lost my old man (and my first horse) in 1998. I kept a lock of his tail hair,...and to this day a shoe of his travels underneath my seat in the car. My grandpa always used to keep a horse shoe underneath the driver's seat of his car and he told me it was to give him 'a little luck on his travels' along the way....so I've done the same..

Would you believe I STILL have a saddlecloth from my first horse that i use now on my lad,...and it still washes up a treat..
 
I have kept everything of every horse I ever had, lf I didn't have the room to hoard stuff I'm not sure how I would cope, I couldn't bare to part with any of it, I even have things passed down from my mum that belonged to a horse she had before I was ever even born, I've also got my sisters childhood ponies tack and actually it is currently in use. I could never bring myself to get rid of it
