What shampoo do you use? Fairy liquid on horses?

Very tempted to try one of the horse shampoo bars though to reduce plastic. Anyone used one?
I've used shampoo bars myself and I don't like them, they make my hair brittle and tangly. I've used a couple of different ones and they both did it. I do have long hair though (two feet-ish) - my husband, who has a "regular man haircut" has no problem with it.

I don't think they'd work for me washing a horse, I tend to make a bucket of hot frothy shampoo-ey water then sponge it on and rub it in. I can't imagine having to rub a whole horse with a little shampoo bar 😆 They might work well for spot stain removal on greys or coloureds though?

Pantene 3in1 shampoos, conditions and shines in 1 go. Buy a large bottle from Poundland or similar when on offer.

I bought a bar shampoo. It arrived wrapped in paper and tied with ribbon or string ( why? it's for a horse, not a birthday present ), I forget which. The first time it was so hard I couldn't get much on the sponge. My pony had a water wash that day. Afterwards I put the bar on an upturned bucket thinking the bar would dry. When I went to use it next the bar instead of drying had absorbed moisture from the air. It was a soft soggy blob that slipped through my fingers. That wash used all the bar in one go. A very expensive bath.

I have a pretty nicely presented bar too! Not tried it yet as I kind of forgot I had it til reading this!
I do remember thinking it smells amazing. Maybe I’ll give it a try now it’s a bit warmer

I've used fairy liquid before.
My favourite is Johnson's baby shampoo though.
I'll use anything not heavily scented though tbh - whatever's cheapest.

I've heard a few people say Johnson’s baby shampoo works well, do you find it rinses out easily too? I’m always a bit cautious with anything too sudsy in case it takes forever to rinse, especially when you're dealing with impatient ponies! I agree though, strong scents can be a bit much. Mild and cheap seems to do the trick most of the time.
