Ariat do loads of different styles so you should find one that's comfy. There's quite a few companies who go round the county shows who have most of the Ariat range.
I wear what I come home from work in, my riding boots live in the tack room.
However, yesterday I was wearing my little ballet slipper type things, and went and stood on a blinking thorn- straight through shoe, straight into foot, snapped off. Queue my OH spending an entire HOUR with two needles, tweezers adn scissors digging a centimetre long splinter from my heel!
I wear steel toe capped jodpur boots all year round. My current pair are the Mountain Horse ones, and I have found them really comfortable and don't get too hot.
I have also have a pair of steel toe capped wellies for turning out/bringing the horses in in winter when its muddy, and keep a spare pair of old steel toe capped boots at the stables just incase I forget to put my others in the car, or just happen to call in as I'm passing!
always my mountain horse jodh boots with steel toe caps when around horses I hate pain and cant cope with horses jumping on my toes. Iv'e just treated my self to some Ariat leather clog type shoes and they are so comfy.
Equitector boots for me, especially after having my toe broken and being in plaster all over the summer months. Also website has interesting bit about the steel toecaps
wellies for mucking out. leather boots for riding, flip flops for washing/trimming/tack cleaning/poo picking etc.
will go and do late skip/hay in flip flops as no exposure to wet bedding!
was once at a show, plaiting a horse in back of lorry, stood on a milk crate in flip flops and some random old woman started to lecture me(in a shouty way) on how dangerous it was! Possibly not the best idea but in hot stickly weather, with a steady eddy horse, its minimal risk and anyway-none of your business!!!!!! annoyed me some what!
Generally I wear wellies around the yard, leather boots for riding that are taken off as soon as i get off and untack.
in summer around yard i wear either wellies or sometimes trainers.
my horse is a bit of a plonker and will stand on your feet with no warning if hand walking him and sometimes when grooming or in stable, he's a bit of a muppet!
Do occasionally pop to yard with work shoes or flip flops on in summer but generally am very wary about my feet then!
