What would be a fair price for DIY livery at a yard with:
1 Own paddocks
2 All year turnout (wood fibre hard standing areas included in winter paddocks)
3 14 x 14 stables with rubber matting and hay bars
4 Floodlit sand and clopf 40 x 20 outdoor arena
5 Local hacking Ok although you do have to go on main road through village to get to the bridleways
6 Parking for trailer (but no room for another lorry, unfortunately)
7 About 500 yards from the rather nice village pub!

The yard's in Bedfordshire.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I have a simular set up to this but in worcs and I charge £25 per week. Places round us seem to range from about £18 - £35 depending on facilities.

Where are you based?

I charge £25 a week in Surrey for a really basic yard, but we are the cheapest in the area. A yard like yours would be around the £40 mark, DIY.

£30 sounds cheap to include hay and shavings. I would personally expect it to be more like £35 in my area and sounds like your area is more expensive then devon.

prob around £40 pw here, individual turnout is tricky to come by so ends up pretty pricey.
re the bedding, just because you feel it would just need a sprinkling doesn't mean a livery would feel the same. Perhaps include a set amount of hay and straw per week? Some liverys on the yard I'm on look like they go through a large blar of straw a week! There is always the chance that you would wind up spending on hay and straw the same as your liverys pay each week!!

Yes, it will, haylage in winter and hay in summer. There's rubber matting in all the stables so will only need a bit of straw or sprinkling of shavings.

Can I just point out that you may just put a sprinkle of bedding on rubber matting but many people still like a 'proper' bed. If you are including bedding in your price, you might find you're going to be worse off than you thought if they all like a full bed.

Also depends on where in Bedfordshire you are?
My friends have just move to a yard with all year turn out, individual paddocks which are huge, outdoor floodlit manege, lorry/trailer parking (for which there is an extra charge), stables vary in size (don't have hay bars and rubber matting), absolutely fantastic hacking with very little roadwork (unless you want to). £18 per week!

Oooh, that's near me...

£10 a week I reckon, when can I move my lot in? :D

Ho ho!

Re bedding, yes, guys, you're right about people liking a full bed and I had a livery once who managed to throw away more hay than straw when she mucked out! I'm glad you reminded me.

Perhaps hay and bedding should be extra?

Gosh, where in Beds is the £18 a week gig?
