my dog has started shaking her head like she has something in her ear what should i do??

Have a look, maybe she does have something in her ear.

If not then she may be starting with some sort of ear infection in which case a visit to the vet is called for. Don't try poking anything down her ear, you will only hurt her and may make things worse.

Good luck, my dog hates me messing with her ears!!

She could have ear mites or is she a long coated breed? As hairs in the ear canal may be irritating her.

She could have something wrong with her teeth. This can give dogs ear ache.

I would definitely take her to the vet for a check. You never know if she has a grass seed or mites etc.
