increase my horses energy levels she gets mollichaff apple for feed at the minute, i dont want to change her feed but, what can i give her to give her more energy, does anyone know of any household stuff?, eg olive oil for there coats.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES shoud you feed olive oil to horses.

You will make your horse very ill if you feed olive based products.

feed ing olive oil that you buy in little bottles from the supermarket would be a very posh, but hugely expensive way of doing it!
Apple chaff is basically just fibre, is your horse holding her weight? if the weight is going down the a basic grass nut might introduce a little more energy, fat and vits and mins..if your horse is still too hefty, then maybe just a multivit balancer is the way to go.
Also depends on what you are doing. Most of the feed companies have an advice line with trained people just waiting for a call like yours - go on, make their day..but be ready with details (height. workload, weight, breed, etc)

Why don't you want to change her feed?
If all she's getting is Applechaff then she's getting very little energy from that as it's a very low energy feed.Could you not change to their new high-fibre alfalfa? That would have a higher feed value and I doubt it costs too much more than the applechaff if cost is an issue.
What else does she get forage wise?Hay/haylage?Is this ad-lib or rationed?

Olive oil is a very bad idea,as Spaniel says.
Soya oil would be much better, and is more suited to equine usage.

well we get the diffrent mollichops so she doesnt get bored on one flavour so she will get the herbi and original sometimes, she is on haylage, i also meant to say i dont mind adding another feed but what should i give her?
