I am going to an unaffiliated showjumping comp on Saturday, but only to do the clear round first thing before the show properly starts. Normally for clear round I would just wear smart casual riding wear, but as this is on a competion day should I dress up i.e. cream jods, shirt and jacket? Don't want to look an eejit if I get it wrong!

Thanks

I would take everything with you and see what everyone else is wearing before you make a decision. I quite like being dressed up even if it is just a clear round as I feel I treat it like I would a real competition a bit more.

Could always then wear everything but the jacket if everyone else is casual

Why not wear beige jodhs, shirt and tie, and take a jumper and a jacket, you can wear the jacket if most are smart and the jumper if not. If it is really cold you could even wear both the jumper and the jacket!

Most comps I've been too where they are also running clear round tend to be standard comp dress i.e. jacket, shirt etc. If they are running a comp on the same day, I'd take it (and a cosy jumper) and see what others are wearing.
