I'm hoping I may get some ideas from you all 😊
My little dressage pony is no longer going to be able to compete in dressage but will be fine for hacking and showing.
Now showing has actually always been my first love, so this is not an awful thing and we are going to continue to enjoy life but in another sphere, my problem however is the reason that I went down the dressage route to start with is that my girly has 3% foreign blood and so the Haflinger Society of GB won't register her into their main book, and so I cannot show her through that route and foreign breed classes are few and far between (she does well in these.
I am going to show her as a veteran, as she has just turned 15 but I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas, either for specific classes to watch out for or affiliated bodies which may be interesting?

I think you are going to be very limited with classes, as she is classed as 'just' an unregistered pony. I think the likes of Veteran, maybe coloured if the show allows duns (check before you enter) and family pony/riding clubs horse/pony type classes. My friend did have an unreg haffie that she kept fully trimmed and pulled, that she used to plait up and do WHP and Hunter pony classes on locally though :)

However, showing requires the same level as schooling as around prelim dressage, so i'm not sure how not being allowed to do dressage but being ok to show works? (unless of course you were competing much higher than prelim and now can't d oall the movements, or only intending inhand showing!)

Hi Crackerz and thank you for your reply. You're right about the level of dressage, we were competing Novice-Elementary and schooling medium which is why showing should prove ok. The vet did say we could compete at lower level dressage but I'm not happy doing that, as much because I know we were doing much more as for the simple fact that I think it's unfair on others competing. We think she'll come fully sound for hacking and general schooling but if she doesn't then I'll just as happily show inhand.
