Hi there can anybody help me, ive got a traditional cob age 4 15.1 and was wondering what show i would be able to enter him for?
Ive never done a show before so its all new to me......so any help at all would be greatfully received

Do you mean what classes  If so then a lot of shows have a cob/traditional class both in hand and ridden...Also coloured classes (assuming your cob is coloured of course!)...Then also there would be things like best condition, handsome gelding...tack and turnout, practically every local show has that, some have in hand best turned out too...there is also equitation, and also a lot of shows have novice ridden showing. You should be able to find plenty of classes :)

Yes sorry i ment class .....wow i did'nt realise there was so many i could put him in, and yes he is a coloured, so looks like there's plenty for me to get prepaired for, are shows a certain time of year or all year round?
And thanks for replying :-)

Hi
Local shows are generally in the summer, from about May to September usually. There are however a few indoor winter shows around. best way to find them is in your local tack shops etc.
With regard to classes, as he is a coloured coulored classes are probably a good place to start. Then once you have done a few classes on him and gotten some comments from the judge and then see what other classes he might be suited too. Also I really enjoyed doing equitation classes when I first started because it didnt matter how inexperienced or silly my young mare was being because it was my riding and how i dealt with it that mattered and those classes gave me alot of confidence with the whole showing thing!
Good luck with it! And most of all HAE FUN!!! :)

Thats great thank you Emily,
Im really looking forward to the start of it, at the moment im building him up and getting some muscle definition on him, so May is great i should hopefully have accomplished this by then.....Holly was a stunner by the way
Thank you :-)

Local riding club websites are also a great way to find out information. The trailblazer shows also run through winter and they do in hand too.

Go on - post us cob lovers a pic!

Thank you. She was a very special little pony. She gave so much and asked for so little, everything I know now is down to her! :)

Echo the request for a piccy of your boy! I love coloureds and cobs! so 2 in 1 is fab! :P
