What size/breed?

We are looking into doing some carriage driving in the future, and are looking for the right horse/pony to do this with.
My query is, as a larger size person, obviously if I was riding I would be restricted to size/type of horse, but we are not going to ride.Would a small pony, i.e 12-14hh be ok to drive with my heavier weight?
 
I'd go for at least 14hh, but it depends on the stamp of the pony as well, obviously a dinky section A may not be suitable. A highland or a section C or D would give you a great time!!
 
In my mind what I want is something we can drive, and also do some in hand showing, that would need plaiting, cos I enjoy doing it! we are going to Fair Oaks sale in Builth Wells at the end of sept, and hoping to find something there. I cant wait!!!
 
aswell as goin to fayreoaks for section A/B 's... i think u should go to the autum cob sales in builth wells october time. we reguarly sell cobs there and its a great place for good quality cobs! alot are already ride and drive.
 
Ooh and I was about to recommend a Fell (well, if it's good enough for Prince Phillip!). You sure you wouldn't rather detangle than plait! :D

So does the fayreoaks sale in sept on sell A and B then? Its just we are tying it in with a holiday, we are in Kent so its a long way to go!!! I thought there was going to be sec c and D as well?
 
I'd go for a Dales, they're like fells but a bit bigger and finer and i love them. :p They have lovely driving paces as well.
 
I’m not a driving person, but if I was you I would go for a proper hairy chunky Gypsy Cob (around 14hh). There is one around our way that pulls two people easily. Every time I see them I stand and stare, it’s the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen (with really stunning high knee action). :D

The c/d's are in the cob sales in october :D
 
I have been told we should look for something like a partbred sec c, amongst others! We have had nothing to do with showing/driving, so no absolutely nothing different breeds!!!
