We have a 505 trailer which I believe is meant to fit up to 16.2hh?
I haven't tried my old boy in it yet who is 16.1hh but shire X and stands quite tall at the front :) if that makes sense. We used to travel him fine in a 510 is the 505 a lot lower in head height?i think length wise he'l probably be fine. What size of horse have you guys travelled in a 505?thanks

I put my big 16.2 in our old 505 and really head height wise he was too big i'd say. Although he looked ok otherwise. He was a pig to load and used to throw his head up going in- then it looked too small!

Thanks for replies. We would have partition in as my 15.2 would probably be in there aswell. Mm may have to save pennies for a bigger trailer :(

I had a 'small' 17.1 (with partition) and regularly have big 16/16.1s in mine, again with partitions, without issue :) Wouldn't want two 16.1 HWs in during the summer as its a big volume of horse but they travel well. Our current 16.1 has a high head carriage and is WBxcob weight carrying HW hunter and has plenty of room. Our 16hher was a drum horse sort :)

Had a chunky Connie 15.2/15.3hh and big 16.1hh in 505, both carry heads very high and they were fine, however both also perfect travellers. Sometimes backed the 16.1hh out instead of going down ramp because she found angle quite tight

Paddi22 does your 16.2hh have enough head height/room?

Yeah he never seems to have an issue, travels fine. He spends most of the time dug into the haynet anyways! 16 hh one has a very high head carriage and never has an issue either. They both happily load from front and back ramps. I do eventing with the 16.2 one so he spends a lot of time on the box during day, so was something I did check to see if he had an issue but he never did, he seems fine.
