I have a cub saddle for little welshie sec a, i am currently in the process of breaking. She is very petite and stands at 11.1hh, she is 3.5 years old.
The cub saddle is really **** and poor quality and i cant get stirrup leathers through the holders :( i have a little black saddle which i am going to try today, if not i have been looking on ebay and come across a few nice saddles - do you think a 12/14 inch one would be a good size for a petite pony??
Thanks :)

I have a chunky 11.2 and he takes a 16" saddle - it depends on her back length and also the size of the child that is going to ride her I think. If the saddle is too long the child has no support and it presses too far back, so maybe a 14" or 15" would be ok?

Sorry not much help, think it's a case of trying a few!

We bought a 14" one of these - very impressed for the money. But I think it goes on the size of the rider and pony combined. I bought a full size one (18") of these for my boy just untill I have the money to buy something really nice - found it very comfortable on a two hour hack on Tues and Weds! Hope it helps.

Cub saddles have got really bad! We bought a tiny treeless saddle for our pony, it fits a treat and the children find it really comfortable.

I have a very petite welsh sec A for my nephew. He started in a cub saddle but we moved onto a 15" Thorowgood pony club saddle as he is 8 now. (bum got a bit big for the cub) Although it is 15" it is quite a small saddle more like 14" really which is great as the pony is very short coupled. It is an XW as although she is short in the back with fine features her back is a barrell. It comes with fish inserts which means you can adjust the width. My nephew is quite secure in the saddle & it puts him in a neat & effective position. This is a hugh relief as he has discovered the joy of cantering but has forgotton about brakes & steering! The jumping is a whole other story.
