What size?

Ordering smaller girth for my horsey.
Her present girth is 52 " and is at about 5 holes
up on each side (struggle to get it up higher...)

Don't know what size to buy for a new one...would 48" be too small?

Any help appreciated

Not sure how much help it would be but I measured for my last one with the saddle on & took the measure up to the third hole on each side.

Worked for me but I'd wait for more reliable advice if I were you!

I think Chestnut Mare's advice sounds about right but as a guide if you measure down about 2 inches from the 5th hole & you are on about the 3rd hole then 48" should be OK as you'll be taking 2" off each side from the 52" one.

48" should be fine (you could probably even get away with 46").

Thanks guys...i'll go with the 48" as she has the most awful habit of blowing herself up when i go to do the girth up
