What socks do you use when you’re legs are more akin to a shire than a tb?

Any tips for brands of long socks that fit comfortably on fuller calves? I’ve bought a bunch recently and all seem better suited to much slimmer legs and the quality seems pretty poor too!

I ride in M&S men's Merino wool socks. But that is in short boots and half chaps.
If the temperature is below freezing, I wear thermal socks under the M&S ones.
OH and I share these M&S wool socks, they all go in the wash together. They have no elastic.
We have been sharing them, wearing them and replacing them for more than 50 years.

If I am slim enough to wear my posh long boots, I have woof wear long boot socks that go under them. Ditto one pair for wearing with Western boots.

I just don’t wear long socks anymore. I don’t even have particularly massive calves and and normally a regular width in boots but most seem to be designed for stick legs.

I wear ankle high walking type socks.

I have relatively wide calves and find Rhinegold fit quite well. They're not as tight or supportive as my Le Mieux ones though.

Still on the sock theme, I like knee high socks, but all the ones I've bought recently have perfect legs, but big baggy feet!

Argh I so very nearly went for the Le Mieux ones. Will keep an eye for the next sale. Loads of good suggestions here. Thanks all.

I bought some very expensive (half price) woolly socks last year, boring long grey ones and they have been fab are still going strong. Sadly can’t remember the brand but would buy more pairs if they came up again. Sort of traditional walking type and really warm and comfy.

I’ve found they last (unlike many Le mieux products). And I’m hard on wearing out socks.

I have the sloth ones but I made the mistake of buying the kiddie size and my clydesdale calves stretch them so much you can hardly see the images! 😱🥴🤣

Not much help, but I don't bother in the winter.

I wear a pair of walking socks under my winter riding boots and both feet and legs are toasty!

I came here to say about these men's MandS merino socks! I love these socks so much, going to stock up again. I also wearing a second pair underneath and they keep me lovely and warm too.
