What sort of bird is this?

If its still alive it may live then it looks quite big but they usually die of shock and without other birds etc, good luck looks quite strong, if its eating that is half the battle. what a shame...bell on the cat??? Darn things.
 
I'd say baby blackbird too - they tend to be quite speckly and brown at this stage, a dried insect smush will do fine for this little guy as others have suggested. The second baby is definitely a jackdaw - i raised 2 when I was little from tiny pink featherless things until fledging - they were so smart - I love the crow family!:D Good luck raising this little guy!:D
