Wondering if anyone can offer some advice/insight! I'm currently at uni and I'm not making it back to ride my lovely little mare as often as I'd hoped. As such I'm weighing up selling her at the end of the Christmas period. Really my question is -is there a market for small hunting horses at that time of year, or am I best off keeping hold of her and selling her at the end of next summer?
She's a lovely 3/4 ID (always mistaken for a Connemara though) 15.1hh 7yo. Really she could do anything, as she has done a little of everything so far; but I can't help but think she'd excel as a small hunter, she is incredibly willing and sensible, bold to jump XC and the times I have Autumn hunted her she was foot perfect, stood sweetly all the time, didn't mind the hounds and went anywhere in the field (but also clearly loved the job!). I'd also plan to take her out hunting over the Christmas period.
If anyone could offer some advice as to whether there's any point advertising her for that kind of market I'd appreciate it, or whether you'd suggest holding on until summer and market her as more of an all-rounder. Its a hard situation to be in as she is incredibly sweet.
