What sort of market is there for small hunters?

Wondering if anyone can offer some advice/insight! I'm currently at uni and I'm not making it back to ride my lovely little mare as often as I'd hoped. As such I'm weighing up selling her at the end of the Christmas period. Really my question is -is there a market for small hunting horses at that time of year, or am I best off keeping hold of her and selling her at the end of next summer?

She's a lovely 3/4 ID (always mistaken for a Connemara though) 15.1hh 7yo. Really she could do anything, as she has done a little of everything so far; but I can't help but think she'd excel as a small hunter, she is incredibly willing and sensible, bold to jump XC and the times I have Autumn hunted her she was foot perfect, stood sweetly all the time, didn't mind the hounds and went anywhere in the field (but also clearly loved the job!). I'd also plan to take her out hunting over the Christmas period.

If anyone could offer some advice as to whether there's any point advertising her for that kind of market I'd appreciate it, or whether you'd suggest holding on until summer and market her as more of an all-rounder. Its a hard situation to be in as she is incredibly sweet.

I know someone looking for just that (although she wanted a gelding) you could contact the hunt you went out with to see if they will advertise her, worth much more as a hunter than a hack!

Just to add I would advertise sooner rather than later if advertising as a hunter

Mine is about the same size, hadn't hunted her when I got her, now is mainly a hunter, been in field, field mastered and whipped in. Won't be for sale but know she would def sell, to a small adult or teenager sound perfect

Yup for many types of hunting counties a 15.1 is exactly what a lady needs if I was not too big I would have one in a heartbeat .
Marketed as a hunter if she not strong in the hand if she jumps upright timber well will shut a gate on a loose rein .will let you mount easily , she will sell very easily .
Sensible people don't buy taller hunters than they need ( says the middle aged lady with a very tall TB ).

I have always hunted horses between 14.2hh and 15hh, and can't imagine you will have a problem, but would get her advertised pdq as most people are about to start full season.

I would advertise her as a hunter/allrounder to appeal to a wider audience.

Interesting. Just backed a 15hh ShagyaXCB. Her dam was a Champion Small Show hunter. We thought eventing pony but too big in UK although in France she IS a pony.
