Thanks for everyones advice in previous post.

I called the vet today and he seems to think it is bog spavin or OCD. I have requested him to do flexion tests etc soon. I did point out that the horse isn't lame so I am wondering if it something and nothing.

My so called friend keeps emailing me to say she wants him and lar de dah, so I am definately thinking I am being stitched up.

Going to speak to my YO today and see what she thinks.

Anyone had horses with bog spavin or ocd??
 
Well if you do want to sell the horse, then good idea to get the vet out to have a little look and examine him.

Your friend will just have to be patient.
 
Please anyone correct me if I am worng, but I was under the impression that bog spavins were just fluid and not serious and did not lead to long term problems (similar to windgalls). It was BONE spavins that were serious.....
 
Well no onein their right mind woould willingly buy a youngster with OCD - it will probably only get worse - so that does sound odd. Not sure you can do a diagnosis of either without scanning so how did he reach that decision. Is he a large warmblood - if yes then often they do appear to have joint problems as they grow, but I have known them grow out of it.
 
He is 16hh. I don't think he had the greatest start in life, came with a broken rib that has healed stangely. So it could be something from his youth. He has never been lame or indeed shown any sign of pain.

I think I am being taken for a ride!
 
It may be that she is just seeing an opportunity and really likes your horse enough to want to work with him..or maybe not.

Would your insurance cover any investigative work if the horse is not actually lame, or would you consider asking a second vet to have a look, to put your mind at rest..obviously if there is a problem I guess you would want to be sure that it is treated properly rather than just sell it on quick for little or no money
