Hi all. Been a while since I was last on here!
This coming spring I want to breed my appy mare, Moonstorm Frosted Silver, to a stallion so the foal will be registered in the Sportaloosa Studbook Two. I have a few stallions in mind, and am wanting input or suggestions. My budget for stud fee is 1000,so I havent much room, in a way. She is a speed horse, and thats what Im looking to produce. I am looking at live cover within 5 hours of Creston BC.

Im not sure if that photo works...
Some of the stallions Im thinking about:
Three Winds SmokN Hawk(APHC)
Three Winds Skipa Treat(APHC)
Sungold (TB) (he is 500 above limit though so doubt it)
Hortons Triple Skip (AQHA)

Will post pedigree links in second post.

Thats my plan so far. I dont think I like Skips confo.

ETA: We already took one of our mares to Horton so I dont really feel like using him again, plus I dont think Hed do much except add height. Im not a fan of QHs unless they have TB blood. Not sure why. Its always just been a thing with me, ever since I was 9 or 10. I think its cuz Im a wee bit biased... I like the rare breeds a lot and it kinda bugs me to see the QH so popular. Its nnot that I dont like em that much that I would refuse one just cuz it was a QH. In fact I already have one and hope to have another half blood out of Horton in 2018 if all goes as planned. I just dont like how popular they are. Because they are so popular, I see a lot of people breeding quite unsuccessful QHs just cuz theyre QHs and people want em so they figure they can make a pretty buck or two. A lot of BYBing seems to go on with the QH breed. So really, its nothing against the horses I guess... More against BYBers that have QHs.
(sorry, long winded edit, lol)

Not a fan of Skipa Treat. It may just be the way he's standing in the pics, but he has an upright shoulder, he appears to be back at the knee and his hocks are set away from him. His pasterns aren't great either.

I noticed that too.
It could be the way he's standing, but even so, I don't think it would carry well even when he was standing correctly.
The only reason I even started to consider him was because it looked like he had great movement that seems to pass on to his foals, but I hadn't seen the more athletic photos of Smok N Hawk on the Weebly website.. they have another one here, which is where I originally found him.
