I am ridiculously excited for Saturday morning! Why you ask?

Because the tack shop is delivering loads of unibed after I have been stuck with vile stinky straw for the last year!

Spent the last couple of days bottoming her stable, and I'm hoping to paint it tomorrow too before her spandangly lovely new bed goes down on Saturday :D

So what daft horsey things do you get excited about that would make a normal person question your sanity lol

Oooh, I'd be excited for that too!! I can almost smell the lovely fresh clean bed!! ;)

I love getting the email that tells me my worm counts are low (the horses, not mine personally you understand ;) ) - it means all that poo picking is worth it!!! :D

We have some sand / fine gravel at our front gate, and I love seeing my horse's hoofprints in it... I literally worship the ground my horse walks on! It gets me excited about our next ride out together!

Hi, my name is Mrs G and I'm an addict....
I am addicted to my saddle soap, it smells of marzipan, I love it and now make excuses to clean my tack over and over just so I can inhale the deliciousness...

Waiting for first day of month to see what is in Nettex try it club for the month. Then playing with what have ordered when it comes. Currently all ponies at Skywalker Towers have lovely sparkly hooves :biggrin3:

I don't need for it to be horsey things for people to question my sanity but I recently got really over excited over a new set of Masta
Avante travel boots I got for £20. They are my first pair (as I usually gamgee and bandage) so they were quite the novelty and I refuse to try them on him for fit just yet in case he gets them dirty. :D

Thursday night used to be VERY EXCITING for me and my horse. CAKE!!!!! My hubby goes into town and comes back with CAKES. Jasper used to start smacking his lips when he heard the car back into the drive and by the time we'd got the cakes out the bag, he was doing the equine mastication equivalent of air guitar; chewing and smacking his chops, with his eyes on stalks, as I'd run down the path to his stable with a cinnamon twirl or Belgian bun, or jammy doughnut in my mits (shouting 'CAKE' as I went).

Crikey I miss my boy.

I get excited when tack wears out/breaks as it means I HAVE to go on a shopping expedition into town to the saddlery shop.

In the days before the internet, I used to get very excited about Burghley Horse Trials. The tack shops around here were poorly stocked back then, so I'd save my money and go to Burghley on the Thursday to do horsey stuff shopping. I bought my first horse's, first rug from there; it was a Lavenham that cost an arm and a leg and it fitted him like a glove. It had lovely elasticated surcingles, which I always thought were more comfy than the rigid ones. There were just so many nice things to buy that weren't available in the shops back then.

This week I have got very excited about my new buckets from Asda - beautiful bright blue and £2 each!! Plus i bought a hose spray gun attachment as well to bath with - why did i not do this 5 years ago!!

I get excited about clean bedding and when rugs come back from the cleaners!

Im also very excited because some one is coming out to weigh all the horses on the yard today!

When I manage to crack the electric fencing so that my hungry hipo doesnt break through to the nice grass which he is saving for winter! He doesnt realise he is saving it for winter and wants to eat it NOW!

Anyone non horsey reading this just wouldn't understand!!

I get excited about winter coming, I love getting my delivery of shavings & haylage and the icing on the cake is a lovely fresh bed, gleaming water buckets, full haylage net & a toasty horse in clean stable rug! its short lived though as 8 weeks in of 5.30am starts soon takes the edge off!!

I also get excited about getting a bargain on ebay not that it happens often!!

I love leaving the yard for a hack on my own, it feels like such an adventure, and just to be silent for an hour with the view of the world through a pair of pricked ears... bliss. I also love getting to the yard and finding it empty and pootling round doing jobs on my own... how antisocial do I sound?!

I am totally with you on this!! I work in a huge busy office so when I get to the yard I just want silence.. It's so refreshing :)

I love a new hi viz product - at the moment I'm waiting eagerly for a stylish fitted gillet to come onto the market. People joke you can see me and Mads from the moon when we go out hacking.
