I'm going to leave my mare out 24/7, hopefully, this winter. I don't really want to feed her a bucket feed as such, as she's a good doer and won't be in much work. I will be feeding ad-lib hay through the night but not during the day, so was thinking of giving her a handful of chaff on an evening with a supplement in it just to make sure she's getting all her nutients, but not sure where to start with which one!! Was thinking Naf Pink Powder, but are there others??
Thanks

Feedmark Benevit is a good one, my 3 are on it and look very well.

I use the triple crown feeds and the equipower basefeed (or evenkeel?? for good doers) is really good. It is basically a feed balancer but it is dead cheap (about a tenner a bag) and you only have to feed a cupful. I find it easier to feed than a supplement because it is a cube and monty is not big on powdered supplements.

Ditto baileys Low Cal. Feed it to my fat lots and it's great.

It's a pellet form so they feel they're getting 'fed', it can be feed on it's own (mine eat it out of my hands 'treats' if required) it's specifialy designed to supplement for horses feed forage only and it works out cheap - a large horse only needs two coffee mugs a day and a large 20kg sack is under £25.

Another vote for Benvit, my 2 live out all year round & one of them is 29, they both are on it & look very well.
It's good value as well, which is very important for me, I used to feed Blue Chip but it's too expensive so changed to Benevit & they look just as well.
