Hi just looking for some advice on what supplement I should feed my new 6year old KWPN, he’s very sharp so doesn’t need anything to make him more excitable, he’s ridden 5-6days a week, hacking out, schooling and lessons. He's from a show jumping yard. I already give him garlic and linseed oil. Our other horse get's garlic and extraflex HA from feedmark, (he’s a 15yr old, ISH used for everything) All suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi, I would think that any supplement would depend on his feeds? If you are feeding in recommended doses no supplement should be needed (unless for any specific ailments). If you are just looking for a general vit & min supplement, there are various around but it sounds you want something more specific, sorry doesn't seem clear from the post.

I just don’t want to put excessive wear on his legs etc when jumping a lot, (slightly over cautious?!) he's fed a scoop of chaff, and scoop of cool mix am & pm. I know lots of people use glucosaminem would this be any good?

Wear and tear is mechanical - but you can support the joints by feeding a specific joint suppliment. But the only way to avoid excessive wear on his legs is to not over jump him, obviously.

Garlic - I'm not a fan of. And linseed is for coat condition.

I feed the linseed oil not just for coat condition, it helps their joints and helps tissue recover quicker after exercise, its good for their immune system, and it has a calming effect on him. Garlic is again good for there immune system and helps beat the flies in summer.
