What has everyone found the best supplement to use on their competition horses?
My fella is a bit old, arthritic and undeweight after winter and nothing is helping him put on weight so gonna try a new supplement called seahorse atlantic, its made of seaweed.
Gonna take before and after pics to compare!

I use a website called Feed XL which is Australian base and has most feeds and suppliments that are available over here.

I choose my suppliments based on what is lacking from my boys diet.
I use Advance Equimin. It is a complete trace element and vitmain suppliment.

I also feed Livamol for coat condition. It makes my chestnut's coat amazing and as my grey gets a bit when they switch feeds in the paddock, my grey's fleabites are really noticable and his coat is like silk.

I haven't needed to use any joint suppliments or anything like that yet, (touch wood) however if I needed to, it would depend on what I am using it for. :)

I use;
- micronised linseed for coat quality and to add condition
- brewers yeast to aid digestion and chill B out
- powdered balancer, at the moment I am using Feedmark BeneVit Advance

All reasonably cheap, but really see the difference when he is not on them!

I had a TB that used to be awful in the winter to keep weight on I found the best supplement was Equine Gold to aid digestion and added Linseed Losenges to his feed (very cheap but may need to get you feed merchant to order them in) they worked wonders only feed that helped him gain weight!

Interesting the amount of linseed being used, that doesnt seem to be too widely available here in Ireland which is annoying as it seems to get great reviews.

Im currently using an equine america supplement for joints (which smells AMAZING) but thats all it does while the seahorse atlantic supplement is advertised as being an anti-rheumatic, a source of electorlytes, good for hoofs and coat and boosts the immune system so all going well I should be able to stick with the one supplement instead of adding a couple.

I would not call mine a competition horse ( far too scruffy and green) but Lifeforce has been the making of her this year. Finally I don't have cowpats to pick up and she looks corking. Also no laminitis( yet- touches wood) which we have had the previous two springs despite her being a TB. I don't tend to like spplements much but I can't deny that this is the first time in three years she is pooing like a normal horse!

I feed linseed too in winter but would say it is a feed rather than a supplement as it is quite high in terms of DE

I never know what to feed, what not to feed, whether I'm wasting my money, etc. So at the moment he gets Suppleaze Gold Joint Supplement and Topspec All-In-One. I was feeding 365 Complete (which my others still get) but he reacts to Micronized Linseed.

I was using TopSpec Comprehensive Balancer, Supplease Gold and salt (mixture of table and lo-salt to make more of a balanced electrolyte solution than just table salt) but vet recommended starting on Farriers Formula which doubles up on a lot of the stuff in TopSpec so I've stopped the TopSpec, carried on with the Supplease Gold and salt and added in Magnesium. He gets Baileys Outshine in his feed which gives him all the oil and omega fatty acids he could ever want as otherwise end up with more supplements than feed.

I just bought iron excell which is full of iron and b vitamans too to give my horse more energy.

My poor horse is going to be getting more supplements than feed at this stage if i dont stop ha
