what the hell ?!?

Given that I couldn't eat a whole child ( I model myself loosely on the childcatcher from chitty chitty bang bang ) I'd have chased them all away with an axe ! I'd go ballistic if somebody was messing with my horses ! I did really like the ringworm idea for a sign. And if they can't see the whole field, then a bull sign is always good ! I can't believe what some of you have had to put up with !

On a previous yard we used to get people wandering in off the street to ask if they could "pet the horses" - YM used to chase them, telling them the horses were privately owned, some would bite and how would they like it if she came into their house and asked to play with their dog. Used to get some right grumpy responses :D

I once found a guy leaving my field with his toddler. Turned out he'd been letting his toddler sit on my shetland for a while. My ponies aren't turned out with headcollars and said shetland was never broken in. When I informed him of that he was most surprised. I don't know why people assume horses are born rideable, but they do!

As my OH says, this nation is just breeding bottomholes. We show vintage tractors and lorries and are astounded by the number of parents who let their kids sit and play with the tractor controls. We've found tractors rolling off because some idiot has let the handbrake off and things broken. This is despite KEEP OFF signs on most of the vehicles. I've confronted some of them and they say, 'Oh, it's not doing any harm'. When I point out that these are working vehicles, weigh over a tonne and that little lever that Little Jonny just pulled is the handbrake, they're STILL adamant that they're entitled to put their brat on whatever. I then ask if they let Little Jonny play in their car unattended (said parents are almost always either stood back taking a 'cute photo' or chatting to their friends, not even looking at what the kid is doing)? 'No, of course not!' comes the indignant reply...
