What time do you bring in/turn out your horse in winter?

It depends on the weather really.....if it is an ok day they go out at 9am and come in before it gets dark.

On a nasty day they normally have hay in their stable before going out about 11am....I would then get them in about 2.30pm.

On *really* wet days, they dont go out at all. I generally ride one and lead the other so they have had their legs stretched, and then they stay in....

Out between 7.30 and 8 am
In betwen 6 and 6.30 pm
weekdays
Weekends will ride before turning out and bring in earlier

mine go out mon-fri at 7.30, back in around 4.30, on sat and sun they are out at 8.30 and back in around 4.30, if weather is really bad then i will bring them in early.

I ride S at about 7.45 and turn out which is usually about 9 by the time I`ve brushed etc, then ride R and she is out by just after 10, these times are approx obviously.
If not riding, then obviously earlier. I fetch in at the moment about 6-7 depending on the weather. In the mid winter when it is really cold they are in around 5 or just as it is getting dark. Unless it is snowy and icy then about 4.

Starting keeping mine out 24/7 last winter. I made a small paddock in the corner of the field during a spell of very wet weather when I had to take them off the main field. When it got drier I continued to put them in there at night with their hay - it worked really well. When it was pouring (all of January!) I was bringing them in at 6pm and turning out at 6am. My connemara starts hammering the door around then and demands to go out even in monsoons.

nineish if not riding then in about 3 in the worst of it
drove me mad at oldyard last year as was out 9.30 in at 1 was barelyworth it!

I've not had winter turnout before but have just moved and this yard does. It will greatly depend on the weather, if it's really horrid he won't go out at all, on an ok day he'll go out for a couple of hours and if we get any really nice days he'll probably go out for about 4 hours.

Mine stay out at night during the winter. They go out at 6pm and come in at 9am. It's means they still get a nice amount of turnout (that is not shortened by me riding) but come in for hay and food. It's convenient for me as I work full-time and they are well rugged and in a field with natural shelter that is well drained.

At my old yard we used to turn out at 7.30-8am ish and get in any time between 1-4pm (earlier as the winter progressed). It's going to be a bit of a revalation for me getting to leave my horse out when the weather is nice(r) this winter! If it's foul they come in, usually overnight, and will probably be turned out between 8am and 6-7pm (as late as possible really).

Mine are out at 6 and not back in until 6pm. Just make sure that they are rugged for the weather and I've got plenty of shelter. They're happier out tbh otherwise they get a bit larey (Sp?)

Until the clocks go back mine goes out at 9am, and comes in about 4pm. From Nov onwards they're going into the winter turnout fields which have very little grazing, so she'll be going out about 11am, and coming back in about 5pm. If the weather's awful she won't be going out at all

I chuck him out about 6.30am, and bring him in about 8.30-9pm. He's only in for 3 or 4 months at night, but thinking of just leaving him out this winter and see how he copes. I hate leaving him in overnight to stand bored for hours, but on the other hand I hate him standing in blizzards/gales/torrential rain all night!

Last year they were turned out between 10 and 11 am during the week and brought in between 4 and 6pm (depends on weather and when others are bringing in)

Weekends he'll be out by about 10 and in by about 4.

He was supposed to be out 24/7 over summer but needed to get him off the grass so he is currently in for between 6 and 8 hours a day.

all 3 sports horses out before work at 6-7am in after work around 6pm.if i ride in am i get there at 5am.
unless im on call nights then they go out at 8.20am and in either at 4pm or a bit later if someone brings them in for me.
if the fields are runnign with water they go out on the grassy car park area while a muck out for 30-60mins twice a day-but thats only rarely.
