what time do you get up in the morning ??

My alarm is set for 6.15, but usually its OH that rolls me out of bed at 6.30 (Im partially deaf in both ears so dont always hear the alarm) drink tepid coffee (been made since 6.15 by OH!) whilst getting dressed etc. Leave by 6.45 at the latest, get to Melly by 6.55/7am depending on state of stupid country roads, shes now out, so give breakfast and check rugs whilst having a (hot) coffe and a cig, leave by 7.15 and get to the yard by 7.30. Put out x6 and muck out all 10 etc till 10 or 11 depending (12 on sats) then back to Melly to groom etc and do some poo picking then home for food! Then potter about doing farm and sheep jobs till about 4pm when I go back and feed Melly again and make sure she's warm enough for the night. xx

On a shift day or supply day, it will be about 430/5am. I don't ride before work as it's too much of a rush. I have that luxury, though, because I do 10x24 hour shifts a month so can ride on any other days when I am not required for supply.

On a non shift day, holidays etc, anywhere from 7am onwards, depending what we are doing.

Get shouted at to get up at about 7,accidently dont hear mother so sleep until about quater past xD Get up,eat abit of my advent calender (odveisly :P) then get washed dressed do make up & hair & that dont take to long thankfully, then have a cuppa

Alarm goes off at 5 - hubby comes downstairs and makes the tea

I get up at 5.15, sort out doggy, washing etc, get showered, make up and dressed for work.

Leave house by 6.40, down yard by 6.55. Put on full chaps, boots, jacket, hat and gloves and hope I don't get covered in food or poo!! Feed horsey, change rugs, poo pick field and get to work by 7.30am

Finish work at 4, down yard by 4.15. Feed, change rugs, poo pick fields, do water etc. Sit in field shelter with girly until she's eaten her dinner. Normally playing with her ears and whispering to her will she finishes off!!! Have a quick compulsory cuddle before I got back down to the feed room and get the mornings food and hay ready. Leave yard around 5.15, get home, feed doggy, tidy up house and sort out dinner.

Fall into bed at 10pm.

On a Monday and Friday I only work half days so ride in the afternoon. Saturday and Sundays I still get up around 6.30 so I can ride/have a lesson and still be home by lunchtime

Oh my god! There is no way in the world i could get up at 5am!!!!
My horse waits till i have done the school run at 9am in the morning!
Im afraid my family and getting kids to school on time comes before the horse, he has company and plenty of hay.

Turn out at 6am at the latest (after first taking my son to work) so that I am mucked out, dogs walked and in the house for 7.30am to get children ready for school.

If I am riding, I will leave my horse in after skipping her out, but still turn out and muck out the other three.

At weekends, if I've not got to take my son to work, I lie in till about 7.30am.

Wow everyone gets up really early in the morning. I don't have a horse at the moment but was thinking of going DIY when I do but anytime before 6 and I'm dead to the world :s

5.15 Alarm goes off
5.16 Hubby calls me 100 times to get up
5.30 Get up, do face & hair for work, sort work clothes out, drink coffee
5.50 Change rugs (if appropriate), turn out 4 horses (they are at home), break ice from water trough, go back in get dressed for work. If hubby is working from home he does all that & I lie in a bit longer.
6.15 Leave home drive to train station
6.55 Get train to London
9.15 Get to work
9.15 Lady comes in to do my stables, haynets, water.
3.15 Leave work
6.00 Get home, drink coffee, get changed, go out do feed, get horses in, change rugs, do feet.
7.00 Go back in, have dinner, chill out for a bit.
8.00 Go back out, ride or groom (though not much of that being done lately), chuck hay out in field for tomorrow, then go back in do some housework or whatever.
10.00 Go & do a last skip out & check
11.00 ish get to bed

Look like sh*t, feel like s**t, roll on the spring & summer.

5.45 - Alarm
6.00 - Out the door, drive to...
6.20 - 7.00 - The yard... feed and muck out x2, change rugs, turnout then back in the car...
4.45 - 16.00 - work
17.00 - 19.30 - Back at yard... bring in, groom, ride at least 1, haynets x4, feed, beds down
20.00 - fall in the door
22.00 - sleep

We still have a bit of grass, so when not too muddy they live out. It's about 50-50 at the mo. This gives me an extra 15-20mins in bed as they only need feeding not mucking out... yay!

When OH decides he has time to ride his own horse I might get a bit of help in the evenings. This is rare when it's dark, so I get to do both horses instead of 1. Nice.

6.00 Get up (after snoozing for 10 mins)
6.30 Leave for yard
6.45 Get to yard, feed 7 horses/ponies, change their rugs and turn out (takes about 20 mins to turn out as have moved to top fields now) or do hay and waters if they are staying in.
7.05 Muck out my 2, make feeds, haynets, waters
8.05 Drive to train station to go to work
9.00-5.30 work
18.00 back to car - sometimes stop at yard but they get bought in and rugs changed by others at the yard as me and one other do the mornings
