What time of year do you start rugging up??

Murphy and one pony have lightweight rain sheets on at the mo as weather is so foul. Might increase pony to mw as she is growing her coat and still has a couple of lead rein showing classes to do into October. She won't be clipped as after Oct she will be doing hardly any work.

My horse is not rugged at the moment. I was rugging in July. But really he is quite a porker on very good grazing. So he could do with shivering a bit.

However, if he were lightweight and showing signs of being cold - then like yours - he'd be rugged up.

Absolutely no point in having a cold horse and watching the condition fall off them.

Missy hasn't had a rug on at all surprisingly as I normally would have been rugging her now , But definitely is getting colder , Im leaving her out today and bring her in this evening and may just put on her stable rug .

I've had rugs on and off for most of the summer depending on the weather

however, my horses came in at the weekend and have had either a fleece or a rug on every night cos it's been a tad on the chilly side!
