Ive posted about my 6yo Sec D on here and worries about her weight as she does carry a nice grass belly.

I started her 'diet' 3 weeks ago, and her muzzling started 2 weeks ago.

This routine consists of her coming in throughout the day to munch on hay (put in two haynets but she doesnt struggle!) and then out at night muzzled.
Shes worked about 5 times a week, part schooling, part hacking..

This was her before she started the diet:

about 1.5 weeks ago- SHE LOOKS FATTER!!!

Now to me, im not seeing a difference between any of them! (Aside from her almost looking fatter)

I havent taken a recent photo as i dont think theres much change so possibly im being too impatient... if thats the case could someone give me a time ratio to when i could expect some weight loss?

Shes not obsese, the vet clarifies that shes just a tad fat with a nice grass belly.

weight loss always take time, well i always found it has when i had poppy. patience is the key. how much exercise do u give her??

I weightape and condition score my two every week, but it takes months of correct schooling as well as dieting to make real difference. (See my post below or the diet post in the photo gallery)
Several people suggested lunging over raised trotting poles and hill work for my semi-retired mare (I'm too heavy to ride her so she gets worked in-hand and only ridden twice a week max), and I think it has helped get rid of her pregnant look

About an hour to two hours a day.
(this mainly consists of 30 mins schooling each day then the remainder hacking)

Plus one full hour schooling once a week as its my lessons.

No less than an hour but rarely more than two/three if we go out in company.

Shes on bailieys low cal, thats it.

it just takes time, i kno how frustrating it can be. when we first got poppy as a super obese animal, we freeschooled her twice a day for 10 then 20 mins at a time which helped in a massive way. obviously ur mare is no where nears what poppy was like!!! but you seem to hae a good exercise routine going on so maybe its just gonna be a long process for you

Make sure that you are soaking her hay preferably for a few hours but otherwise a minimum of an hour otherwise the two nets you are giving her is still full of calories. Immersing it in water means you lose the sugars. Also ensure you rinse it thoroughly before feeding it to her.

She looks fatter!!!!!

Weigh tape her (make sure you do this at the same time of day. I do mine after she has been in for the day and deflated!!!!).

Reduce her hay and double soak it. My 15.3hh cob mare is turned out on a restricted patch with a grazing muzzle on over night, and in during the day with a 6lbs net of hay which has been double soaked. She also get 2 x small feeds (handful of simple systems Alfa Stalks and Vit/Min supplement). She has been like this for a month now and is definitely loosing weight now.
