Okay, so I am very excited and a little nervous as I've asked a trainer to come out and ride my horse to settle my ownnerves. I want to see for myself before I get on him what if any explosions might happen. He hasn't been ridden in a while, but I do groundwork, tack him up, keep him thinking (had a baby), well, the lesson is with mickey Gavin. I have no idea what to ask him, or what to expect. I suppose I want reassurance and an experienced person to push him a little. My lad is nappy, not dangerous, just likes to stop...I think thats more me scared to push him on, incase he does someing that i can't handle. I have had bad experiences i past, but not with thos horse...excuse the editing, I am on the phone app. Anyways, any ideas or experiences of such thing would be appreciated.x

I'd explain the situation including your anxieties and ask the trainer to assess the horse and suggest a training programme. Perhaps you could book a series of sessions with him with him doing most of the riding at first then building up the time you are riding. Good luck!
