If you were going to see a horse box to buy what would be the top ten questions you would ask about it? I have thought of the following - can any one suggest any more - thanks

Full service history. Owners since new. floor tested or replaced. what did it fail on the last plating. mileage done.

I'd get a professional to have a look at it - it's a bit of a minefield and someone who knows about cars isn't necessarily going to know about horseboxes. I bought one and was told it was scrap by a car mechanic - had a horsebox specialist look at it and he said it was a lovely box! It's now been serviced and runs beautifully!

I'll PM you the details of the horsebox people as they aren't too far from you

Why are you selling it?
What work do you consider it needs to have done?
What condition are the brakes in and when were they last worked on?
Does it start every time?
What was done on the last test and service?
What does it weigh unladen (with or without water in it?)
How easy is the ramp - remember hydraulic is great but is there an over-ride if the hydraulics don't work and how easy is this to use?
How easy to steer - power steering or power arms?
How long does the battery last if you are using all the electrical stuff inside and is this run off a seperate battery?
When was the gas last checked for connection/safety?
Was the body put on the chassis as new or was it custom built?
What are the dimensions in the horse area - height, length, width, how many partitions/tie ups?
How long is the whole box?
What condition is the paintwork?
Tip cab or fixed cab? (mechanics prefer the tip cab)
Cut Through to living?
What is in the living?
Is there storage lockers? Loo? Hob? Fridge?
Whats the longest journey you have taken it on? and what have you used it for?
Where has it been stored?
What is the roof like?
What is the roof finished with?
Does it leak?

I think I have gone on far enough??? Lol!
Hope this helps?

Plus get someone mechanical to look at it and check the floor and ramp properly.
