I need to start getting a revenue quickly from my facilities, I was thinking rent stables and grazing to 1 owner with a few horses so not too many people coming and going through my property. Any ideas what I could charge for this?

3/4 stables , about 3/4 acres. Manege needs a bit of work but can be used for basics now. Lovely area with hacking. This is in Somerset.

Thanks

What are the criteria?

If the original boxes were built as permitted development ie within the curtilage of a private residence for private use then you would need PP for a change of use. Business rates most likely will apply because it will no longer be a private yard but let commercially.

I suspect there are a lot of people doing just that - I'm curious to know where the information comes from, is it local or central government? If local then it might well vary from county to county, in their interpretation. Is there legislation in planning or taxation law?

Been looking for something like this for ever! Where in Somerset are you? Anywhere near Bath? Could you pm me please?

What sort of money would I get for sheep grazing?!

I'm getting £150 per acre per annum for cattle, but that is twice what the local agents said I could get. Bit late for this year but upland farmers are usually after winter sheep keep, depends if there are many hill farms close enough to be worth their while

Is it three quarters of an acre or 3 to 4 acres?

Is the farmer claiming SFP then ? as that would be a little over £80/acre so could justify that figure. Round this way several estates pay us to put cattle on their land our biggest rent is £40/acre however we get the SFP the OP wont be in a position to get that either . Hill farmers want a hundred acres not 3 or 4 its not economic to mess around with.
