Hi all my daughter is turning 13 in a few weeks time she is horse mad (like her mother 🤣 it runs in the family) and is inviting a few equestrian friends round for a sleepover...all the girls are not interested in nails hair makeup ect so I have no idea what to do.. any ideas?

A movie night? Im doing one for my middle sons birthday this week - I have a business making personalised things so Ive done them all personalised cold cups (change colour with liquid), personalised plastic popcorn containers and a snack bowl. Also got him a movie night blanket. You could also do a make your own pizza station, just get the bases and lay out all the toppings for them to make their own.

It doesnt have to have a horsey theme for them to enjoy it ;) Or you could get some horse cookie cutters and get them to bake their own cookies (and decorate) - winner gets to choose the movie. Ive learnt that as long as kids have loads of snacks they generally make their own amusement!

NAtional or International Velvet, or the Horse Whisperer with takeout pizza.
Pin the tail on the donkey for a prize (although a bit young maybe)
Buckaroo

I agree with making browbands, there are some really great tutorials on YouTube they can follow as well.

Ask your daughter if she wants quiz/games, or would rather just have a film and snacks. If she would like some games, there are some great ideas here, and rosettes to take home will go down well I'm sure!

Fantasy horse shopping on Whickr/Horsequest could also be really fun! I like the idea of having riders to buy for, but you could also do "which horse would you buy tomorrow if you had unlimited money"!

We've done a pizza and film party a few times before - buy some plain pizza bases and some pizza sauce and get them to add whatever they want to it to it. Takes up some time and they can't complain that they don't like the food!
Horses and Ponies Monopoly is good unless they're competitive and likely to argue 😆

Another horsey movie : Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron
Perhaps a trivia game with questions about horses, horse breeds, name the tack and different parts of a horse, etc..
You can also get tutorials about drawing horses.

I did pizza making one year with mine and instead of plain bases I got ‘Basic’ cheese pizza. I then just had to have loads of different toppings. Another food one could be decorating ready made Christmas shape biscuits/ cookies. Lots of icing, gold and silver balls, sprinkles etc. and they’ll be very happy. Maybe with hot chocolate with marshmallows afterwards while they watch a film.

Another vote for seabiscuit as a film and snacks and pizza.

Browband making also sounds a great idea along with horse monopoly.

Get them to bandage each others legs and prize to best one.
Also making a bridle out of pipe cleaners in 5 minutes as a team.
The black stallion is a great movie

We did a “design your ideal yard/livery” once
It was really fun seeing everyone’s different layouts and what they had on it!
