Dont know what to do with my mare.
She is been diagnosed (sort of, there not 100% sure) with very mild arthritis. She has been lame now since early September, she is fine in a straight line but when you put her on the lunge you can see a slight difference in movement from the left rein to the right rein although she doesn't drop the hip joint, she is also weirdly better of hard ground than on soft. She is not lame enough to nerve block but she has had xrays and they showed up a small 1mm spur on the joint between the hoof and the fetlock (forgive me I cant remember what its called). She is been being turned out but not ridden for last 5 weeks partly becuase she cant go on boxrest as she has COPD. She's been having weekly cartrophen injections and been put on the suppliment cosequin, on friday we've got another lameness assesment so will find out if these things have helped at all. What if they haven't what is the next step for us?
Another issue is we are at a high priced DIY livery yard with fab facilities but horses have to come in at night and the fields are pants. I am considering moving some where just with a field and stable which would cut my cost considerably but that would mean full loaning a companion for her as she wont stay in field alone. She could just be left out to chill, I would save money so would be able to finally move out (currently living in a summer house in bf parents garden!). She has excellent feet so could be left without shoes........
Whats your opinions or should I just wait until she has a definate diagnosis?
Thanks in advance sorry if its rambley!

Wait until you get a definate diagnosis. Then decide with your vet the best way forward.
We all fear the worst but it may(hopefully) not be to bad
Fingers crossed for you
