My loaner has now taken over my horsey 5 days a week while my pregnant tummy gets bigger and I wait for baby - due in March.
I got home from work before 6 tonight!!!! I had no idea what to do with myself! I ended up watching Hollyoaks....

Does anyone have any ideas about how I can occupy myself this long winter til baby is born and I can get back in the saddle? I am not used to having energy left at the end of the day, and missing that horsey-smelling outdoor tiredness that makes you sleep really well.

Help!!! I don't want to become a soap addict!!! :) :) What do other horsey people do when they can't ride/faff around stables?

Thanks guys!

When mine was on long term sick (turned out to be EPSM) I took up patchwork. I'd never done it before, & I've made 3/4 of a king sized quilt. This is my 3rd winter of doing it. It's something to play about with to keep hands busy while watching tv!

I also play the piano & drums & am writing my 5th novel.

The patchwork is surprisingly addictive, I warn you!

Similar to poster above. I did tapestry while I was preggers- made some chicken cushion covers to go in the nursery!

I was very bad throughout my pregnancy - surreptitiously rode til I was 36 weeks pregnant, and all my nesting was yard related, rather than housework - much to my husbands disappointment! The trouble I found myself in when he caught me knocking in fence posts three days before my due date...

Hmm I quite liked the applique cushions Kirstie Allsopp made last night on her home made show... maybe I could make lots of horsey fabric things for the nursery so baby HAS to fall in love with horses...
I am actually looking forward to the horses coming in for the winter, at least then I can muck out a couple of days a week...

If you are handy with the needle and thread -> I'd happily pay for horse barding!!

no reason not to go and brush the pony's hair, wash his tail, clean his tack pick up pooh you have another 5 months to go, but hey you have the perfect excuse NOT to go do jobs when the weather is grim!!! good luck with the pregnancy.
