Hi everyone, I have a foundation degree in equine science and management and I don't really know what I can do with it... if ibwere to go back to uni and top up i'm not sure what course to do and don't think its any use at all as it is. I'm hoping to get out of yard work now as i have too many injuries and a baby to provide for! Any suggestions welcome :)

What other interests do you have? Do you want to stay working with horses, just not yard work? H&H had quite a good article recently about careers with horses. If I remember there was chiropractic, instructor, saddle fitter and veterinary nurse. I've definitely forgotten some. You should be able to get practical careers advice from the college you studied at previously. You may find, when you've really thought about it, that your education might continue in a completely different field. Good luck.

I don't really know, i did look into vet nursing, thats definitely an option. I find the physio/chiropractor stuff really interesting as well, i just don't know which dorection to go or whether to start again with somethong completely different. I've always done yard work and am 24 now, left uni when i 20 but have never really know what to do so just stuck with what i know. I've moved to a different area now and there isn't much yard work so i think its time to do something woth the degree i worked my butt off to get!

If you find physio interesting, I'd go for the degree pathway in humans. It'll give you a good job and you'll still have options afterwards to keep your career interesting.
My equine science degree is usually a source of amazement/intrigue/amusement!

I have one, I retrained afterwards as did some friends. One is a teacher and I'm in a pharmaceutical company. Never really used the qualification. The ones that did use it set up their own yards but both had family land etc. They are however both successful. It just didn't do anything for me.

My plan is to eventually have my own yard with my husband (he works on a tb stud). But that won't be happening for a while! I'm just so lost when it comes to jobs and have no idea what to do and really struggled to find work here so want to give myself the best chance for when i finish maternity leave.
