My labrador is always running off when my mum walks her, she runs off into a nearby horses field and eats poo.

What can we do to try and stop her (other than putting her on her lead) ?? She totally ignores you when you shout her

Help please.

get training/lunge line and train her to come back, reward her with treats every time at first, then cut the treats down, but still give her one every 3rd or 4th recall. she is a lab so ruled by her tummy. It won't take long to train her. always make it nice for her to come back to you.

This seems like a good case for making coming back more interesting than staying away and as she's not chasing something her actions are deliberate rather than instinctive so you should be able to retrain her fairly easily.I'd work on her recall away from temptations like horse poo using a long line and her favourite treats. Tiny bits of cooked sausage or those packs of cold sliced chicken cut into small bits are good

Have you tried clicker training - so that everytime you click she runs back for a treat? It worked with our lab and even tempts her away from cat poo

Weird I have 3 labs two of them being pups and they have been around horses from day one and have never showed any interest in horse poo, or cow poo, they are a bit partial to sheep poo though for some reason, but not mad on it enough to run off and not come back, labs are ruled by there stomachs I agree.
