Hey, i've never posted on here before but thought I would put the question out to you all as i'm pretty stuck for an answer atm.
I have been offered a job in New Zealand working for an event rider for a year. I am really excited and keen to do it, i leave in July. However i have a 15'2 13yr old thoroughbred ex racer who due to circumstances (mum had a car accident, moving house, exams etc etc) hasn't had the work he needs and is now standing in a stable with no turnout (hasn't had any since November) due to bad ground and lack of field mates. He has a scar, an old racing injury on his back and while being out of consistent work, he has dropped all his muscle and this has made his back weak. I am trying to bring him back into work/ rebuild the muscle to support his back but am struggling to find the time before i leave as i am currently sitting my A levels. I either need: someone to take on my horse as a year loan and work him back up to fitness (me helping out financially until he is fit) OR i need a years worth of grazing in / near Cirencester OR a years worth of grazing and someone to keep an eye on him (anywhere else in the country) and make sure he gets shod and checked regularly for a relatively cheap weekly sum (no more than £20). CAN ANYBODY HELP ME? Or does anyone have any advice???
I'm at my wits end with this, I cant bear to sell him as I'll be back next year :S.

What about a retirement livery where he would be out in a herb and checked etc but not ridden.

Contact Henryhorn on here, she has retirement livery in Devon. i haven't a clue how much it will cost but migt be worth the ask.

this is what I was going to suggest, if you google retirement livery Cirencester you should get some ideas

Potentially i think so, he has taught me a lot. Though he isn't a novice ride, he will throw in the odd spook every now and then (typical TB). But he is beautifully schooled and could be so brilliant when fit again. I wont be able to get him fit in time to send him to a riding school though :(

A riding school may still take him if he is suitable and just needs getting fit.
They could take him for a few weeks for fitning before using him for lessons.
I'm sure you could find grass livery which will check him daily and sort feet etc.
Sort if full grass livery.
