I have had my horse just 5 weeks now and things have been going well, we have just started hacking and his schooling is alot better he's just turned 5.

Now I go on holiday for 2 weeks on Saturday and am wondering what would be best for him.

A) Have a holiday himself for 2 weeks, just bought in at nights as usual.

B) We have a show producer who brings on youngsters was produced himself by Rober walker who has offered to long rein him 3 times a week just to keep my lad ticking over.

C) My YO has offered to lunge my horse 3 times a week.

I am tempted to keep him slightly active whilst I'm away but nor do I want to come back to a different horse, he's a poppet to handle (most of the time ) and I have built up quite a bond with him in the short time that I've had him.

I am really unsure what to do, what would you do in my situation ?

If the people you mentioned are trustworthy I would rather keep him ticking over, its also good education for him to get used to others doing a little with him so long as they do things similar to you.

Thank you, I am leaning towards keeping him ticking over, he's only at the start of his education and I think long reining would be beneficial to him and I do trust the person doing it- I think !

I will have a good chat to the guy who would be doing it, although my horse who has such a pleasant nature well with me , certainly didn't like this chap on the first meeting, ears back and white of eyes showing. Unless he has had a nasty experience with men.
