I have a couple of areas next to the school that are plagued by nettles. Last year I had to bin some hay that the rats had got to.

I chucked the hay on top of the nettles as an experiment and low and behold they never grew back. So if you have a weedy area anywhere it might be worth a go.

Ooh that’s interesting - there’s a patch at the top of one of the fields that is virtually all nettles and thistles which would be good to sort. I’ve also got a few gaps in the hedge which need filling in so will be using some for mulch for the new plants. Lots va of ideas to be getting on with thank you everyone ?
