I feel so confident with him, but my jumping position is going down the drain. I'm fine with the smaller jumps, and give him his head even on landing. But as soon as the jumps get bigger i sit up too quickly over the jump

I'm not sure how to stop doing this, i seem to do it EVERY single time the jumps get bigger

And i really want to stop, It doesn't feel as though i'm annoying Hemir, but just feel bad about it

Can anyone suggest how i can improve my jumping position?? And not to sit up too quickly over the jump?

You look fairly well balanced to me, I wouldn't have said you were sitting up too quick.

You don't look to be pulling on his mouth and you are supposed to land so that you are balanced in yourself - not landing in a heap on his neck.

I think you look fine anyway - don't worry too much and enjoy yourself!

i must say you are supposed to sit up on landing - especially if you have one with a good back end that throws it away if you dont sit up you would be hanging around its ears !!!

I would also say put your stirrups up xx

I'd agree, stirrups up. I have a friend with a similar problem that was solved when she put her stirrups up, and the same myself. I always find it uncomfortable at first, and on one of our saddles the knee rolls do get in the way but it really does help. Over the largest of the fences i think your leg is a little too straight in mid air, it's only showing up over the larger fences because thats where a greater momentum is needed. It's pushing you more than over the small ones. Just my thoughts but it helped me :P If your leg was more bent in the air, it would prepare you for the landing

General position over the bigger fence really isn't too bad at all, over the smaller fence you look like you are throwing yourself forwards.
Stirrups really need to go up at least 2 holes.

I always used to be a 'throw hands up the neck' kinda jumper. My new instructor has gradually got me to drop my hands more down the shoulder, neither is more right/wrong than the other but I have found the latter to really help my balance. It feels really odd to begin with though!
