Assuming it passes the mechanic's check my new horsebox should be arriving in a few weeks time and I will be able to get out and about.

I'm going to have a go at Endurance riding and I'm looking forward to a promised hack on Cannock Chase with drjames and Patches but what else should I get up to?

Anyone recommend any shows, competition venues, fun days out etc within 1hours drive of Burton on Trent?

Definately check all the doors, ramps and windows are shut tight and cannot open ..... did you see the post the other day

, thankfully its only got one ramp so I should be okay although it isn't that easy to shut on your own. I could do with being about 6ft to get the leverage. If you see me flapping at it out on a show please come and give me a shove

What sorts of things are you looking to do? There are a few riding clubs out that way, or if you're looking for lovely places to ride Bradgate Park would probably be less then an hour and you can ride all round there (possibly only on certain days of the week but worth looking into)

I used to livery at the National Forest Riding Club so I know what they offer, I'm kind of curious to know what else is out there at that sort of level that is fun.

I'd really like to take D to a cross country schooling clinic and then maybe do a hunter trial at some point if we like it. I'd quite like to go unaffiliated clear round jumping somewhere with a surface as well
