what to do

I've had my horse for 12 years since she was a 2 yr old.

She came to me very badly treated and very nervous. After lots of tlc she is fine with me but does have a short fuse so far as scary things go.

Last year due to personal circumstances I moved her yards after 12 years in same place, she basically lost the plot. She now box walks, has separation anxiety if in alone and is extremely manic if on her own. However she will behave perfectly once tacked, she hacks alone, schools, never bucks or rears and is very sweet natured.

I am now having to move house again and would need to move her with me. I really think it may seriously stress her out and I am dreading it as she has only recently become more settled. I am considering the option of leaving her where she is considering a loan for the sake of not stressing her with another move (which may not be permanent)

Do you all think I am mad and she would "settle" again ??

I think she would be better off with you tbh if you understand her and get on with her well.
You may find that a change of 'keeper' would be just as stressful as a move.

If you are going to put her on loan for a while could she not go back to her old yard and go on loan there where she might settle again or is it in a completely different area? If not I think I would rather have her with me where there is at least one constant in her life.

Yes I think she would too, I know her and hopefully could make her feel more settled I just feel awful for putting her through another move.

I am moving back to the same area as before however her old yard was VERY pricey and I am not sure I can afford it, there is a much cheaper yard nearby so I was thinking she might settle better there, but not sure if she would remember and realise she's near her old place?

Or it might even make her worse being along the road from her old field companions.

Maybe i will just rob a bank
