my TB came in lame about two weeks ago...have box rested for two weeks and now he seems fine. so what do i do? turn him out or try and walk out for a week or two? i'll have t turn him out sooner or later and he'll go ballistic when i do...

Can you not turn him out in a small enclosure for an hour or two each day for a couple of days. 1) to see if he's sound and 2) will let him let off some steam, until you can turn him out full time. My young mare had abcess in foot, poulticed etc:- When she wasn't so bad turned her out while I mucked her stable out, that way she had a roll, hobbled about and came in for her hay, did that for over a week, she was happy, foot healed and I wasn't stressed out, trying to keep her sane!

johnrobert...unfortunately not no...he doesn't do going out on his own...he'll run round and round til his legs snap off so would probably be worse  had thought about ACP NJ but he'll have to go out with my other horse so would that possibly be a bit unsafe?!

my initial thought was to walk him out tomorrow and sunday and then turn out super early monday morning before the rest of the horses go out so at least just two of them hooning about and not a full field's worth...?
