Hi There,
I am after peoples thoughts on wether you think I am dong the right thing. I have a 23yr Welsh cob who at the begining of jan this year suffered a servere strain of her SDFT and has been on box rest up until now. The vet came out last week and was very pleased with her progress and said I could start to turn her out again (I was/am over the moon) I have been a stressed out mum over the last 6 months thinking I had let her down and feeling so bad she was having to stay in.
Anyway she is now being turned out in a small paddock by herself
(she can see other horses which tends to keep her calm) So this is my question I have been turning her out in the morning and bringing her in half way through the day for a few hours so she can rest her leg and get out of the sun then turning her out for a few hours in the evening. Is this daft am I being an over cautous mum should I just turn her out all day and leave her be? The vet said just to turn her out all day. I worry about her all the time is this normal? I worry when she is out that she might be stressing/running round and then I worry that she is fed up when she is in! I am driving myself and properly my gorgeous pony mad. I just don't want her to go through anything like that again. Does anyone else question what they do all the time and worry about the slightest things? Or am I need of some serious therapy!
Sorry for the essay.
