I've got the chance of a stable over the road from where i am now. It's £10 a week cheaper, still get use of all the facilities, school, show jumps, off road hacking etc. the only drawback is that my horse will be the only one in the stable block at night. He won't be able to see other horses but he would hear them. During the day he would see other horses and cows, so he'd have some company. I know it's not ideal and money isn't everything, but i just need my horse and me to be happy.

It really depends on the horse. All of mine are quite happy on their own in the stable, as they know the others will be in at some point, or they will be joining them in the field. but if you have a stressy horse, then its another issue. Will he be turned out with other horses in the day? Ten pounds a week is over £500 a years saving, so definately something to think about.

I wouldn't personally, not for the sake of a tenner a week. I know that B doesn't like being on his own & kicks the sk*t out of the stable walls if he is - wouldn't want to risk an injury.

I suppose it depends how yours is with being on its own - i know a lot of people with horses who are fine in that situation. Only you can know your horse

Depends on if your horse will mind being in on his own? No way would I be able to do it with mine as she's so stressy! I am dictated to by other liveries as my mare will not come in in her own n the others want theirs out all winter x

As others have said...It depends on your horse.
My lad loves being in his stable (esp on days like today) he's often on his own in the block but as long as he has hay he's a happy chappy.
I would move as £500 a year is a great saving esp if you still have the facilities but if you think that your horse wouldn't be happy then stay where you are.
Go and have another look at the new yard, have a chat with other liveries and another look at the facilities and see what you think on a second look.

I would...my mare actually prefers to be on her own...and a tenner a week would be good saving too...you could put that tenner in a pot everyweek and go on a nice holiday or buy something nice at end of year..x
