What to do?

Sorry, think this should have been put in the careers section. Anyway not sure what to do? Im a full time mother of two so at the moment cant go out and get a full time job. At the moment i work 1 morning a week at a local riding school. I really would like to take my PTT and get my stage 3 riding and was told when i started that i would be paid £15 (7.30-1) and have an hours training (riding/PTT training a week) If i had to pay for the training would cost me over £20 an hour so seemed fair. Anyway, things started fine but for the past 7ish weeks havent had any training at all. I normally teach from 9.30 till 1 and the £15 just about covers my diseal. Question is, do you think they are taking the mick out of me? or is this normal and just be greatful that im at least getting teaching practice? Just feel like im not really get much out of it at the mo!
 
They are definitely taking the piss and I would speak to them about it. They made a promise when you took the job on which they have not fulfilled.
 
Definitely taking the mick. They are now paying you under the minimum wage too - speak to them or try to find somewhere else - they are taking advantage of your good nature.

Very much taking the mick!! They should either stick to the original arrangement (and make up to you for the lost training) or pay you a proper rate for the hours you do, no question. Come and work for me !! (oh no it's a bit too far, really wouldn't cover your diesel!)

Sadly this seems to be the way people work. I was supposed to be working for a yard, getting training and my NVQ qualifications and the relevant experience. What actually happened was that every day I'd muck out 7 horses, groom and tack up 4 horses for the YO . That was it - no training whatsoever, no riding and no experience. What really pissed me off was that it was time that I could have spend grooming, tacking up and riding my own four horses!
 
It is a shame to hear that you are not getting more form this arrangement. I would sit down with the YO and ask for minimum wage and a structured plan of your training sessions for the coming months.
If this does not work I think you may well have to find another, more suitable venue. Good luck.
